Your Accommodation
Malvern Hills Lodge is the ultimate romantic escape for two with thoughtful design, luxurious amenities and a rural countryside setting. You’ll probably be drawn in by the standout feature, a woodfired hot tub, which is every bit as wonderful as it sounds, but you’ll also be just as impressed with the inviting bedroom window seat and large skylight that frames the night’s stars, amongst many other things.
At Malvern Hills Lodge, expect to enjoy good wifi, tasteful decor, sun loungers, a coffee machine, plenty of magazines and books, a flower-filled small garden, a wood burner for chilly nights, outdoor patio, large indoor sofa and picturesque views. Located on a working farm, your helpful hosts are on hand whenever you need them.
Book your stay at Malvern Hills Lodge
Upon Arrival at Malvern Hills Lodge
Your hosts will likely contact you before your visit to find out your expected arrival time. They’ll do this so that they can offer to get the hot tub warm for you and to see if there is anything they can do to make your stay perfect. This is the ideal time to mention any special dietary requirements as you will be receiving a local welcome hamper. For our visit, Lois and Rich went out of their way to find vegan biscuits and crisps for us as well as providing some more typical goodies, like fresh bread and local fruit juice.
Malvern Hills Lodge is easy to locate using the sat nav postcode given to you in your booking documents. Once you pull in, wait for your hosts to come out and kindly show you the way. Along a quiet track on their working farm, you will be shown your allocated parking area, a short walk from your beautiful holiday home. You may need to do a couple of trips with bags, where you will walk them just a minute or two across the field – not far we promise. Your hosts will offer to lend you a hand.
Visually, the lodge is impressive and we guarantee your jaw will drop open as you approach on foot. You’ll be given a brief rundown of everything you need to know, including how to fire up the hot tub, how to work the Kamado oven and how to open and close your skylight, amongst other useful bits of information for your stay.

Malvern Hills Lodge From the Outside
Malvern Hills Lodge is surrounded by farmer’s fields and accessed via a small track and wooden gate. You may have the owner’s cows for neighbours, depending on which field they are in at the time of your visit. This is a working farm so may not be suitable for all vegan visitors. However, if you do want to stay as a vegan, you can kindly decline the complimentary milk and eggs, and request other goodies in your welcome hamper instead.
Once inside the gate, you will notice a small garden area to your right complete with picnic bench and shade umbrella. As you follow the steps down towards the lodge, automatic lighting will lead the way. Halfway down, stop to admire the woodfired hot tub to your right. Surrounded decoratively with flowers for privacy, the hot tub is the main event at this luxury farm stay in the U.K., although the lodge also has many other wonderful draws.
Continuing down the steps, you will meet the small patio area, edged with garden herbs and colourful flowers and home to delicate table and chairs for al fresco dining, as well as an impressive kamado oven for outdoor BBQs. Round to the side of the lodge, you will find two deck chairs for sun-worshipping or sunset views, so there is no shortage of places to sit back and enjoy your holiday.

Inside Malvern Hills Lodge
Upon entering the lodge, you will find yourself in the living room, with a huge inviting sofa, a bespoke coffee table complete with a map of the area, ample reading books and magazines for your stay, a large TV and wood burner for colder days and nights spent indoors. The open-plan space leads seamlessly into the kitchen with a breakfast bar and some very unique tractor-seat bar stools. You will also enjoy modern amenities such as an oven, fridge/freezer and all the crockery you could need. If you’re lucky, your host will have also baked some cakes for your arrival too.
The bathroom is accessed off the side of the open plan kitchen and living room; a beautifully decorated space with a large shower, toilet and sink. Toiletries are not provided so remember to bring your own. You will find hand wash and moisturiser but no shampoo, conditioner or body wash. Towels and flannels are on offer in abundance and are thick, soft and invitingly fluffy.
Lastly, meet the bedroom where a large bed that guarantees a fantastic night’s sleep with big pillows and soft linen welcomes you. Look upwards for the impressive skylight that will help you catch a glimpse of the stars. Also, notice the extra door off the side of the bedroom for access back round to the hot tub. Our absolute favourite part of the bedroom design is the window seat overlooking the patio, complete with throw rugs, cushions and a couple of coasters on the window sill too. This is the perfect spot to sit and enjoy your first cup of tea of the day.
All the Little Touches
Malvern Hills lodge is one of a kind, designed and created by your wonderful hosts themselves. Lois and Rich have thought of everything, providing you with the best stay in the area for sure.
Discover local walks and suggested pubs in their handy guide, wrap yourself in cosy blankets, whether you fancy sitting inside or out, and find extra towels for the hot tub so that you don’t have to use your shower ones. Your hosts will also leave you the kamado oven guide in case you are kamado-oven-virgins like us, drink cup holders on the edge of the hot tub for those all important hot tub beverages and fresh herbs to use in the kitchen (try refreshing mint in a cold glass of water or freshly picked sage tea).

Summer at Malvern Hills Lodge
Malvern Hills Lodge is brand new for Summer 2019 and we cannot wait to enjoy it in winter too. With the woodfired hot tub outside and wood burner inside, it’s definitely well suited for a British break when the weather, more often than not, leaves you feeling cold. But if you are fortunate enough to visit on one of the hottest days of the year, like we did, summer at Malvern Hills Lodge is a beauty.
Avoid the temptation to fire up the hot tub and instead use it as a private plunge pool to cool down. Sunbathe on the deck chairs with rolling field views and no onlookers, apart from the odd calf or cow. When you’ve enjoyed you’re vitamin D fix, seek shade on the grass underneath the sun umbrella on the top garden whilst you flick through one of the fantastic books on the local area.
Bring BBQ food with you for the kamado oven – we cooked vegan burgers on it whilst we roasted sweet potato chips in the oven indoors. Then mix up a fresh salad adding some garden herbs and sit outside on the patio to indulge in your meal. Get ice cubs into the freezer for drinks and maybe buy some ice creams on your way here. Summer at Malvern Hills Lodge will help you feel worlds away from the modern rat-race. Relax, put your feet up and enjoy the wildflowers in bloom at this time of year.
Be inspired to holiday locally with the unexpected benefits of avoiding planes.
